A mini documentary

For years, we've been going to Paris for seasonal fashion week showings and festivities. Each time, we make it a point to find a gym to hoop with the locals. It became astonishingly clear that there is a deep love for the game in Paris - deeper than you would think in most European cities

In 2022, a mutual friend connected us with David Kahn, the President and Co-Owner of Paris Basketball — the exciting new basketball club located in the heart of Paris. With each visit to Paris, we became closer and closer with David, learning all about his vision for the club. We knew we were witnessing something spacial taking shape.

We set out on a mission to document this moment — the beginning of a new era in French basketball history. As we did our due diligence to make sure we told the most authentic story possible, we learned of a much deeper history, one that goes all the way back to 1893. Dr. James Naismith invented basketball in 1891, and it was first played in Europe two years later at the Paris YMCA, which is the oldest standing basketball gym in the world.
